Canada’s Assembly of First Nations held a press conference on Wednesday where members addressed their disappointment in the federal government’s 2024 budget decisions. Though $5 billion was committed for Indigenous loan guarantees, the Liberals’ promises fell short on closing the infrastructure gap — a long-term issue the assembly would like to re-discuss the “path forward” for with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
