Empire, the parent company of Sobeys, Safeway and FreshCo, reported an 8.5 per cent jump in profit in its Q3, to $134 million. The grocery retailer says sales were driven by growth in Empire’s discount and full-service business. Anne Gaviola has more in Business Matters for Thursday, March 14.
