Business Matters: Cineplex made nearly $40M from online ticket fees in drip-price lawsuit

Canada’s competition commissioner claims that Cineplex has made nearly $40 million from online booking fees since 2022, using what he calls “deceptive” marketing practices. Drip-pricing is at the center of the competition case looking into fees and pricing practices. Cineplex has argued the claims are without merit and should be thrown out.
