Mayor Olivia Chow took to social media to wish Torontonians a very happy new year. Premier Doug Ford also released a video and a statement welcoming Ontarians to 2024 saying in part that as we enter the new year there’s much work to be done and if people work together, we can achieve great things. As we say hello to 2024, we also welcome several new laws to Ontario. Early childcare rules and new regulations for the tow truck industry will be among those with new directives. Also as of Jan.1, middle-income wage earners will see more of their pay cheques go towards Canada Pension Plan contributions.
