Hanukkiah placed indoors for 24 hours ‘sends wrong message,’ city councilor says

“I’m offended on behalf of the peaceful protestors for the mayor to assume the Hanukkiah would be vandalized,” said Fort-Rouge & East Fort Garry city councillor Sheri Rollins on Monday. Mayor Scott Gillingham said the measure was precautionary, and wasn’t meant to offend anyone.
