Legislation to recognize Riel as Manitoba’s honourary first premier

“It’s taken years for him to be properly represented and respected,” Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew said on Thursday. “Today we honour the father of Manitoba and the struggle of the Metis people who fought to set things right.”
