At least 27 people died and four are missing after a tropical storm swept Acapulco, Mexico on Wednesday night. Known as Hurricane Otis, the storm was so unexpectedly powerful and intensified so quickly that it tore large trees up by the roots, destroyed buildings and flooded hospitals — forcing patients to be evacuated to safer areas.
