A study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal found that COVID-19 vaccine passports in Quebec and Ontario did little to convince people to get a shot and also didn’t significantly reduce inequalities in vaccination coverage. The passports, introduced in 2021 and then discontinued by the spring of 2022, forced people to show proof of vaccination to enter bars and restaurants.
