A trial started on Monday for Calgary police officer Const. Trevor Lindsay, who was charged with aggravated assault stemming from a May 2015 arrest.

Video has been released by a family that shows a man being beaten by a Calgary police officer while handcuffed. The incident happened during an arrest two years ago and the officer has since been charged.

Officers said the suspect received serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later recovered.
