A decision on a land deal for an 80-storey tower on the east end of Jasper Avenue has been delayed for 60 days by Edmonton city council.

Edmonton city council will discuss several bylaws Monday regarding a proposed 80-storey mixed-use tower, which would be located on the south side of Jasper Avenue near the Shaw Conference Centre.

On Monday evening, dozens of Edmontonians gathered at an open house allowing them to sneak a glance at artists' renderings of a development being proposed for The Quarters that - if approved - would see the building become the tallest in Alberta's capital.
