Western Canada High School's band director Brendan Hagan is one of 35 teachers nationwide to receive a Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence this year.

As students return to school this week, one West Island elementary school is celebrating one of its teachers. Sheila Dunwoodie received a prestigious national teaching award from Prime Minster Justin Trudeau's office.
