Toronto Catholic District School Board vice-chair Mike Del Grande said he was proving a point when he linked a debate over LGBTQ2 protections with acts like cannibalism and bestiality.

The code now requires that staff, students, parents and trustees "respect and treat others fairly" regardless of "gender identity, gender expression, marital status (or) family status."
