A massive blizzard that hit Manitoba 25 years ago on Tuesday started a chain of events that led to the "flood of the century" — a once-in-a-lifetime event.

The city plans to rename the Administration Building, located at 510 Main St., after Susan Thompson, Winnipeg’s first woman mayor.
