Joe Natale's departure as CEO of Rogers Communications Inc. raises questions over the company's direction as it completes its takeover of Shaw Communications, experts say.

In a statement Thursday afternoon, the company said John A. MacDonald will take over as chairman of the Rogers board of directors.
