A Winnipeg couple was shocked to witness a shoplifter attack an employee at one of the city's busiest malls on Thursday night.

Police say a 38-year old man was stabbed outside the Empress Street Walmart Tuesday. The victim is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.
