The New York Police Department says it's assessing a threat posted on a website related to the Islamic State group against the organizer of a cartoon contest about the Prophet Muhammad.

Officials have named Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi as the two suspects responsible for attacking a “draw the prophet Muhammad” cartoon contest in Texas on Sunday, which left 1 security guard injured.

Pamela Geller, the founder of AFDI, has been banned from the United Kingdom and the group is listed as an anti-Muslim extremist group by the non-profit Southern Poverty Law Center.
