Over the next couple of years the city of Kelowna is expected to generate between $50 million and $60 million with three major events coming to the city.

The Brandon Wheat Kings, Kelowna Rockets, Lethbridge Hurricanes, Medicine Hat Tigers and Spokane Chiefs have all submitted formal bids to host the championship tournament.

On Wednesday, David Rush and Steve Thomson were announced as co-chairs of the Kelowna's 2026 Memorial Cup campaign team.

The Kelowna Rockets are planning to bid for the 2026 Memorial Cup, potentially fulfilling a plan scuttled four years ago by the pandemic. 

The Knights will be hosting a welcome back party at Budweiser Gardens Monday afternoon. Fans can meet the team in Jubilee Square outside of Gate 1 at 5 p.m.

The London Knights erased a 3-0 deficit and tied the Memorial Cup final in the third period but the Spirit found a way to win it with 21.7 seconds left.

Despite being away from home, the London Knights are expecting to see a sea of green and gold at Sunday’s Memorial Cup final in Saginaw, Mich.

London head coach Dale Hunter moved into a tie for second place in all-time wins at the Memorial Cup with Brian Kilrea. Each coach has 13. Don Hay has 14.

It was win or go home on Tuesday night for the Moose Jaw Warriors, as they needed a win against the Drummondville Voltigeurs to advance to the Memorial Cup semifinals.

Two points from Sam O'Reilly, Denver Barkey and Easton Cowan helped the London Knights defeat Moose Jaw 5-4 on May 27.
