Williams and Marcellis Stinnette, a Black man, were shot last week while in a car in Waukegan, north of Chicago. The officer who shot Stinnette was fired.

The announcement of the firing came shortly after the FBI joined Illinois State Police in investigating the shooting late Tuesday of Marcellis Stinnette, 19, and the wounding of his girlfriend, Tafara Williams.
