"Detours will be in place for travellers in the area. Motorists should plan ahead and consider alternate routes, such as Deerfoot Trail or 37 Street S.W. in the southwest," the province said in a news release Friday.

Macleod Trail is scheduled to be closed at Highway 22X in both directions from 8 p.m. Friday to Monday at 6 a.m.
