The Lifesaving Society is warning Manitobans about the dangers of man-made ponds after a Winnipeg man drowned in one on Monday.

Winnipeg police said a man drowned in King's Park trying to get the family dog out of a pond. Passers-by tried unsuccessfully to rescue the man. The dog survived.
