There are currently around 1,900 confirmed cases of monkeypox worldwide with more than 30 countries reporting outbreaks of the viral disease.

While monkeypox is not as transmissible or dangerous as COVID-19, scientists say, there needs to be clearer guidance on how a person infected with monkeypox should isolate.
