Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg endured hours of prickly questioning from lawmakers Wednesday as he defended the company’s new globally ambitious project to create a digital currency while also dealing with widening scrutiny from U.S. regulators.

Things got a bit heated at the end of more than three hours of testimony by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin before the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday.

The push for documents by ranking member Rep. Maxine Waters of California and other Democrats renews an earlier attempt from May that produced no records.
