According to the Armed Forces, Eric Cheung worked as an operations officer with the 38 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters in Winnipeg before he was deployed to Iraq and died.

'An investigation into the circumstances of this incident is currently underway and no further details will be made available until the investigation has been completed,' DND said.
