Tornado watches were issued for parts of central Alberta on Thursday as severe weather hit parts of the province.

Environment Canada said in southeastern and central Alberta there was a risk of tornadoes, golf-to-tennis ball size hail, 120km/h wind gusts and heavy rainfall of up to 100 mm.
