Vancouver police are redeploying officers and stepping up patrols in the Downtown Eastside neighbourhood after two men were injured in gun violence over the past week.

A man was arrested Sunday night after Vancouver police and paramedics were shot with a pellet gun fired from the window of a Hastings Street rooming house.
