Calgary-based oil company Canadian Natural Resources has signed a deal to buy the Canadian operations of Devon Energy for $3.8 billion.

Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy Corp. says it's getting out of the Canadian oilsands, as well as the Barnett Shale area in Texas.

BP is considering the sale of its stakes in three Canadian oil sands projects, people familiar with the matter told Reuters this week, as part of the British oil company's strategy of retreating from noncore businesses.
