The crossing, which connects the LeBreton Flats area of Ottawa with Hull in Gatineau, Que., reopened to all vehicle traffic at 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to paramedics and fire officials, the man sustained head and rib injuries and is currently in serious but stable condition.

The city put drivers on notice Monday as it kicked off a two-week traffic and parking enforcement blitz downtown. In one day, bylaw officers issued a total of 101 tickets for parking in "no-stop" areas, including bus zones.
