Councillor Paula Fletcher has put forward a motion to Toronto city council with the hopes of keeping the antique carousel in the city. The ride was sold earlier this summer to recoup costs after flooding on the Toronto Islands.

After already suffering millions of dollars in lost revenue, insurance adjusters have pegged the damages at Centreville Amusement Park and the adjacent Far Enough Farm at $6 million.

All permits for events on the Toronto Islands Park have been suspended until July 31 due to record lake levels.
