Smoke detectors are being credited with saving the lives of a Calgary woman and her dog.

The bobcat was carrying a dead squirrel as it passed through the southwest Calgary neighbourhood.

Police were called to Cedarille Crescent on Friday. When they arrived, they found a man had been working under a vehicle when it fell on him.
