Borislava Filipovic was convicted by a jury in June of trying to kill 19-month-old Ela Filipovic, trying to kill her mother Ivanka Filipovic and the aggravated assault of Ela.

The Crown is asking for a life sentence with no chance of parole for 12 years saying that her actions were not impulsive.
