In a presentation to board of police commissioners Thursday, the Saskatoon Police Service said it wants to double the number of officers wearing body cameras to 80 from 40.

Toronto police say it will take nearly two years before a final decision is made on the type of technology needed to equip its officers with body-worn cameras.

Members of the Fredericton Police Force will be wearing body-mounted cameras as part of a pilot project. The cameras are gaining popularity as a policing tool- providing more transparency and accountability to the public.
