The church has defended Myanmar's civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been criticized by the international community over the Rohingya crisis, as the only hope for democracy.

Bob Rae, Canada's special envoy for the Rohingya crisis, said the two leaders didn't immediately agree with each other.
