Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals – July 12 – 14

The largest drag racing event in Canada, the Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by JB’s Power Center plays host annually to thousands of racing fans July 13 – 15 at Castrol Raceway. Run for Pyper – July 27

On July 27th join Global Edmonton, CISN Country 103.9, 630 CHED and Global News Radio 880 Edmonton for Run for Pyper supporting Pyper’s Home Fund. Pyper was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II (SMA) which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy. SMA is a genetic muscle disease which causes all of the muscles in the body to atrophy/weaken as one ages.  There is no cure. Major renovations and modifications to her home are required to accommodate the equipment that will allow Pyper to be cared for properly. 100% of entry fee goes to Pyper’s Home Fund! Submission deadline August 1

The Mosquers aims to educate, entertain, and build bridges by showcasing the diverse Muslim experience to its audience. The Mosquers gathers short film submissions from around the world and shortlists them for our annual event. Last Fall, we celebrated 10 years of Mosquers in Edmonton, and welcomed over 1000 guests to the Winspear Centre. The panel of qualified judges select the winning films. This year, $6000 worth of awards are being offered. There is $2000 allocated for best picture, and $1000 each for best cinematography, people’s choice, best performance by an actor or actress, and best Alberta film. The Mackenzie Tour PGA TOUR Canada is coming to the Edmonton Country Club and offers something for everyone. The ATB Financial Junior golf clinics kick off the week, the ATB Financial Evening FORE the Ladies is going to address everything health and wellness, followed by four stellar tournament rounds as the pros play for a $200,000 prize purse. Following play on Saturday, Aug 3 at approx. 5 pm, is the Million Dollar Hole in One Final where 32 qualifiers will take their shot for $1 Million Dollars. Spectators can still qualify on-site Aug 1, 2 and 3 for the Final. Volunteers and caddies are required for the week-long event. Net proceeds support the CASA Foundation and YOUCAN Youth Services.
