Best known for their international top 40 hit ‘Just Between You And Me’, an iconic power ballad that made them the very first Canadian band on MTV, April Wine went on to release over twenty albums and have received a combined total of 11 Juno Award nominations in the Group Of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Selling Single categories.

The Plunge for the Cure Foundation is a registered Canadian charity that was established to raise funds for drug and treatment development targeting ovarian cancer.
Plunge for the Cure was started by a group of Vancouver residents, business owners, and philanthropists who all have one thing in common: a desire to crush ovarian cancer. Supporters fundraise annually, as individuals or as a team, and then take part in celebrating the arrival of summer by plunging into the water on the last Sunday in May to help us crush ovarian cancer. The event will raise funds for drug and treatment development for ovarian cancer through the world-renowned UBC/VGH research facilities in Vancouver.
According to the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, each year in Canada, over 3,100 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and over 1950 will die from their disease.

The Walk is the largest annual fundraising event for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and provides an opportunity for communities to take action to change the future for the over 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them. The event is also an opportunity for us to honour and remember the people in our lives who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.
Funds raised at the Walk will help provide local programs and services for families on the dementia journey and enable research into the causes of and cure for the disease. We couldn’t do this work without the generous efforts of our fundraisers!

There’ll be lots of food and merchandise vendors too. And of course, Ashley MacIsaac in the Big Tent at the end of the day.

Two of rock’s most iconic and influential bands, JOURNEY and DEF LEPPARD, have announced next summer’s hottest co-headlining stadium tour. The bands will join forces to conquer
stadium stages across North America in 2024. This legendary collaboration promises a musical journey like no other, igniting the hearts and souls of fans and delivering a night of unforgettable rock anthems. The 23-city tour kicks off on July 6 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO, while making stops at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN; SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA; Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL; JOURNEY’s hometown of San Francisco, CA at Oracle Park and more before wrapping up in Denver, CO at Coors Field on September 8. An all-star lineup of bands will vary by city to round out an evening of rock music with performances by: Steve Miller Band, Heart and Cheap Trick. Fans can check local markets for their lineup. The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival is thrilled to announce inimitable comedian and host of the widely popular podcast This Past Weekend Theo Von as the most recent addition to their Vancouver line-up, now headlining two festival dates as part of his Return of the Rat Tour. On Saturday, September 14 Theo Von takes over Stanley Park in Vancouver, opening this night are stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and social media icon Trevor Wallace as well as MTV’s “Wild N Out” cast member Maddy Smith. Last month, it was announced he would close out the stage at Halifax’s Garrison Grounds on Sunday, August 11, with opening acts comedian, actress, and internet personality Chelcie Lynn, and Laura Peek, who was recently named a “Comic You Should and Will Know” by Vulture Magazine.
Joining Segura throughout his GOCF dates are actor, comedian, MAD TV alumni, and host of the Tiger Belly and Bad Friends Podcast Bobby Lee, and the hilariously relatable comedian, actor and producer Jessica Kirson. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) announces its 2024 season: A season of irresistible musical experiences and one of its most exciting to date.
Led by Music Director Otto Tausk since 2018, the VSO performs more than 150 concerts each year, throughout Vancouver and the province of British Columbia, reaching over 270,000 people annually. “This season we’re bringing you huge masterpieces from the classical repertoire: two superb Mahler symphonies, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Verdi’s Requiem, Stravinsky’s Petrouchka, Haydn’s Creation, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5, and others, including a British Columbia premiere of John Adams’ game-changing masterwork Harmonielehre.”
