The Asian Heritage Month Family Sundays at Kelowna Art Gallery will be held every Sunday in May. There are four community groups teaching arts and crafts such as the Japanese, Korean, Filipino and Chinese. This is an annual family event enjoyed by children and parents every year. Every parent is encouraged to bring his or her children to participate and celebrate Asian Month in the Okanagan.

In honour of Canada’s 150th Birthday, Theatre Kelowna Society, Shakespeare Kelowna Society and the Rotary Centre for the Arts are presenting “The Comedy of Errors”, William Shakespeare’s hilarious comedy. Directed by Steven Jefferys with a bit of a maple syrup flavour. Playing at the Mary Irwin Theatre May 17-28.

“Backwards and Forwards”, the second show in the Summerland Arts Centre’s 2017 season, opens Thursday, May 18th, with a Reception 7:00 – 9:00 pm. You are invited to come and meet the artist, Vikki Drummond, and see her work. The show runs from May 18 – June 23rd.

The Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides is a national fundraiser held in over 240 communities across Canada. The Walk raises funds for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, whose mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them a Dog Guide at no cost. Dog Guides are provided at no cost to eligible Canadians, despite the $25,000 expense it takes to raise, train, and place each one. A family and dog-friendly event that welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides relies on the generous support of volunteers, donors and partners to meet its goal of giving Canadians a new leash on life. The Kelowna walk will take place at the Mission Creek Park Greenway on May 28. Sign in at 9 and we will walk at 9:30.
