Compass card to be rolled out in the next six months

The new Compass card will take another six months to roll out, with more than 80,000 customers using it by the end of January.

The rollout will start with BC Bus Pass and CNIB pass users as well as TransLink and operating company employees.

Translink says the timeline for Compass transition for West Coast Express customers has been adjusted and will now take place in late spring. Until then, West Coast Express customers can continue to purchase 28-day and 7-day passes at all train stations.

FareSaver tickets will continue to be sold into spring/summer 2014.

The beta testing of the new Compass card was completed in October.
