KFC’s Double Down now available in Canada

It has been a massive success south of the border, and now Canadians are getting a chance to enjoy KFC’s Double Down.

It is the sandwich reinvented. There is no bun, just two white meat chicken fillets surrounding cheese, bacon and KFC’s secret sauce. It packs 540 calories, 32 grams of fat and 1,740 milligrams of sodium. Combined with fried and a drink, you will have ingested nearly 900 calories.

“We would describe this as an occasional indulgence eat, and so it isn’t intended for everyday use,” said KFC spokesman Dan Howe. “This is when you’ve earned a big appetite, it’s a good product.”

Almost 15 per cent of the fat is saturated, the type of fat that raises cholesterol. To work off all those calories, you would have to exercise for nearly an hour.

The Double Down is available in Canada until November 14th.
