Semi-truck on its side after multi-vehicle crash on Stoney Trail in northeast Calgary

A section of the eastbound lanes of Stoney Trail was closed Friday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash on Stoney Trail near Metis Trail Northeast.

YYC Transportation announced the closure on the platform X, previously known as Twitter. In an image shared on X, a semi-truck could be seen lying on its side across the road.

The closed section of Stoney Trail reopened to traffic shortly before 1 p.m.

Global News has not confirmed the extent of injuries to anyone involved.
