A section of the Malahat Highway on Vancouver Island was closed for hours Tuesday evening due to a wildfire.
Highway officials closed the route in both directions between Whittaker Road and Mill Bay Road around 8 p.m. The road fully reopened shortly before 10 p.m.

The BC Wildfire Service listed the fire as under control, 02 hectares in size and in the area of Colpman Creek.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
