A person died in a collision five kilometres south of Grande Prairie, Alta.
RCMP said around 3:30 [a.m. or p.m.??] Wednesday, first responders were at the scene of a collision between a pickup truck and a dump truck with a trailer on Resources Road south of Township Road 704A.
RCMP said the dump truck with trailer was travelling southbound on Resources Road when the dump truck swerved to avoid a moose.

A pickup truck travelling northbound was hit by the trailer of the dump truck which caused the truck to roll into the ditch and land on its roof, police said.
The 40-year-old driver of the pickup truck died in the crash, police said.
The dump truck also swerved into the ditch but the driver was not physically injured, RCMP said.

Resources Road and Township Road 704A had been closed for the initial investigation but have been re-opened. The police investigation is ongoing.
