A man has died in hospital after a shooting in Surrey, B.C., on Sunday.
Police said on Monday that the man was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a white Ford Edge SUV after Surrey RCMP were called for gunshots around 5 p.m.
The man was found in an alleyway near 96 Avenue and 130 Street. Witnesses in the area told Global News they heard shots fired.
“No suspect description is currently available, and police are looking for any witnesses or those with dash camera footage from the area, to contact police,” said Surrey RCMP Sgt. Tammy Lobb.
A short time later, a burnt-out vehicle was found near 141 A Street and 82 A Avenue. Police are investigating if the two incidents are connected.
The file has been taken over by B.C.’s homicide investigation team.
