MONCTON – A fire in a vacant house in Moncton has claimed the life of a man believed to be in his 50s.
Platoon Chief Dennis Dollemont says firefighters were called to a two-and-a-half storey home on Gordon Street just after 3 a.m. today.

He says the victim was found in a bathroom area on the second floor of the home, which suffered extensive damage.
The man’s name has not been released.
There were no other injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
