High school students in Vancouver have been told that classes will be in session this year right until the end of June.

In years past, they would have finished classes approximately two week earlier. The change this year comes from an update in provincial laws governing the school calendar. It requires schools to offer educational activities for students who are not writing exams.
That could include field trips or extra study sessions before the summer break.
