Strathcona County declares parking ban on snow routes

Edmonton – The heavy snowfall that hit the Capital Region Monday and Tuesday has caused Strathcona County to declare a parking ban on permanent snow routes in Sherwood Park.

The ban will be start at midnight Wednesday and remain in effect until snow has been windrowed and removed.

The county says the parking ban is being declared to ensure safe and efficient snow clearing on collector roads and transit routes.

Sherwood Park residents have 24 hours to remove their vehicles from affected roads.

Vehicle owners who violate the ban will be issued a $250 ticket.

Residents can sign up for parking ban notifications or view permanent snow routes online.
