Marquis Drive opening to Saskatoon motorists

SASKATOON – The City of Saskatoon recently announced that Marquis Drive is nearly complete and will open to traffic Saturday.

This final phase of construction connects Millar Avenue to Idylwyld Drive, allowing motorists to travel from Wanuskewin Road to Highway 16.

Work to connect Millar to Idylwyld began in 2012.

“Marquis Drive will become a vital part of our city’s infrastructure because it gives residents a direct route to and from the city’s north end,” said Chris Hallam, Saskatoon’s director of construction and design.

The project cost around $13 million and was funded from surrounding development and industrial lot sales.
