A 15-year-old boy is facing several charges, including attempted murder, in the stabbing of an 18-year-old at a fair in Dartmouth, N.S.
Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured person at the East Coast Amusement fair on Main Street just before 7:30 p.m. on May 12.
“Officers located an 18-year-old male suffering from what are believed to be life-threatening stab wounds,” police said in a release. “He was transported to hospital for treatment.”
In an update on May 19, police said a 15-year-old was arrested the next morning when he turned himself into police headquarters.
The youth is scheduled to appear in youth court at a later date to face charges of
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
“The incident remains under investigation by members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division,” police added.
