The Queen of Nanaimo that was damaged in an accident near Mayne Island earlier this month will be back in service Friday afternoon.

Spokesperson Deborah Marshall told Global News the ferry left dry dock Thursday afternoon and was out for sea trials.

It will resume regular schedule at 4:25 p.m. with a sailing from Long Harbour to Tsawwassen.

The ferry was damaged when high winds pushed it toward the shore at Village Bay on Mayne Island on November 2. No one was hurt, but the ferry was damaged, taking it out of service for weeks.
