SPIRITWOOD, Sask. – The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region declared a respiratory outbreak over on Wednesday at the Spiritwood and District Health Complex long-term care unit.
Visitor restrictions have been lifted and isolation precautions are no longer in effect.

The outbreak was declared on Oct. 22.
Eleven residents and 18 staff members became ill with Entero-rhinovirus.
The illness can cause diarrhea in some cases and/or respiratory symptoms in others.
The health region is reminding the public that proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette are the easiest ways to reduce the risk of getting respiratory illnesses, including influenza.
