HALIFAX – Police say a house fire that claimed the life of a 92-year-old man in north-end Halifax last month was accidental.
They say an investigation has determined the Oct. 24 fire started in the kitchen of the residence located on Acadia Street.
Daniel Maclennan was removed from the scene and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say an autopsy determined Maclennan died as the result of smoke inhalation.
A 49-year-old man was arrested a few hours after the fire but was later released without charges being laid.
