Cat Thatcher Robert Allen Jon Voight has been in the entertainment industry for nearly four decades. Still remembered for his Academy Award®-nominated performance in Midnight Cowboy as well as his Academy Award®-winning role in Coming Home, Voight has forged a career in which he’s successfully transitioned from a leading man to one of America’s most versatile character actors.

In film, Voight’s career has been filled with honors, including three Academy Award® nominations and a Golden Globe® Award for Runaway Train. He received an additional Academy Award® nomination in 2002 for Ali. Voight was seen alongside Nicholas Cage in National Treasure: Book of Secrets and Michael Bay’s Transformers. Additionally, his voluminous film credits include Glory Road, September Dawn, Holes, Pearl Harbor, The Manchurian Candidate, Varsity Blues and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider opposite his daughter, Angelina Jolie.

Voight made his Broadway debut in 1961 in The Sound of Music. Five years later, he starred opposite Robert Duvall in the acclaimed revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge. He later starred in the Ahmanson Theatre Los Angeles production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

On television, Voight has received Emmy® Award nominations for Pope John Paul II and Uprising. Additionally, he has starred in Jasper, Texas; The Five People You Meet in Heaven; Second String and Chernobyl: The Final Warning. Voight made his directorial debut with The Tin Soldier, which won several awards, including Best Children’s Film at the Berlin Film Festival.
